This business operates very underhand. We were given a tour for a prospective birthday and there was NO mention of policy for age limit for birthday party guests. The cost for 15 kids for a party for 1 hour and 45 minutes is $375 ($397 with tax); this includes pizza, juice box and one cup cake per child. We were offered to section a portion of the play space for privacy for an extra $100; we declined given the steep price of a standard party. My husband went on the tour without me; it was given by the owner. He was given a small tri-fold brochure for parties - there is NO information on this regarding age limits for party guests.
About a week later I went in to give a deposit to secure the date we wanted. Nothing was mentioned to me about age limit of guests; there was just no discussion about it all. I paid the required $187 deposit; which is non refundable after 48 hours. I later received an order invoice - there was NOTHING on this to highlight party guest age restrictions.
I recieved a follow up call about the planned party; mostly marketing - do we want extra catering, face painting, extra services and do we want to pay for the private party room - again it was NOT declared that this was a requirement if we had any guests over the age of 6
Less than a week before the party I took my daughter to play (free birthday coupon) only to discover their policy; completely by accident.
They already have my deposit, which they maintain is non refundable. Even though they never presented services as they should be. We have 3 eight year old girls on our guest list; all excited to come and celebrate. We were given 2 choices:
1. Pay the extra to divide the play space to accommodate the 8 year old girls
2. Allow the girls to come but ensure they do not use the trampolines or slides; which is the bulk of the place space
That is like giving a child a cake and telling them not to eat it!
I feel like services were not presented accurately; at any point we had been made aware of this age restriction policy we would NEVER have booked a party there. We knew our guest list the whole time and it would have been evident to us that it was not a suitable location for our daughter's 6th birthday. This is a total misrepresentation and I feel like we were duped to pay for services under false pretenses.
Both my husband and I visited the site to speak with the manager. They refused to accept responsibility, refused refund and maintained their two ridiculous options. The owner that gave my husband the tour and failed to inform him of the age restriction policy suddenly had to leave and has continued to make himself "unavailable" for face to face discussion.
My 6 year old daughter and 14 friends are all excited for her party here and we are not even sure it is going to happen.
I have found numerous reviews with the same conduct and I find it hard to believe that a business serving the public (families and children) would operate consistently like this. It should be illegal. I plan to make it my cause to make this more publicly known.
